Gerik(宜力)
Gerik or Grik is the town located at the north-east of Perak state(霹雳州), it is the district capital of the Hulu Perak district. It is also the main town from Perak that lead to East -West Highway (东西高速公路)which is the main route to the east coast of peninsular Malaya. It connected to Jeli(日里), Kelantan state.
Gerik is the resting town for travelers from North-South Highway(南北高速公路) to east coast via East-West Highway(东西高速公路).The travelers from Noth-South Highway exit from Kuala Kangsar town(瓜拉江沙), go through Lenggong(玲珑) and straight to Gerik(宜力).The travelers from Butterworth-Grik Expressway(Butterworth-Kulim highway北海－居林高速公路, going to Kulim-Grik highway which included Kupang-Grik new road宜力古邦新路), also normally stopped at Gerik for rest and food.
The Gerik town is famous for its fresh water fish, especially Ikan Pau or Pak-shok-kung.

Ikan Haruan, good for people after an operation, it help to heal early. The fish head is round.
Ikan Berut, the fish head is sharp.

The famous Restoran seafood Hock Kee (福记)at 108, Kg Baru Batu dua, Gerik. The shop is located on the left side of the road to East-West High Way from Gerik town, after the round about. A lane lead straight to the restaurant. The Ikan Pau or Pak-shok-kong is a must try in Gerik.
宜力（Grik）已经蛮靠近泰国边界了—它由數個村子所組成的。
1922年的宜力，大黃牛東一群，西一堆，只有兩排看來極其簡陋、寒酸的木板店屋。
2004年的宜力，3道街道,沒有鋼骨水泥大高樓的影子，卻已有兩家中型百貨購物中心，裏邊售賣的貨品應有盡有，足以滿足這一帶的居民的基本需求。
這幾年來，因為霹靂州州務大臣是來自這裏的，所以宜力不斷地被發展起來，就連最原始的黃泥路都被鋪上柏油了，這方便了許多以割膠為生的村民到膠園去工作。除此之外，宜力的主要道路被擴建後，為這裏的人民帶來了許多方便與益處，更拉進了宜力與其他市鎮的距離，使宜力不再是一個人人裹足不前的孤僻、偏遠小鎮。也因此，這扇本來就是前往東海岸的“大門”，近年來可得到不少旅客的青睞，為當地居民帶來了些許額外收入。
遊客若要前往天猛莪湖，可以取道宜力(Gerik)前往吉蘭丹州日里(Jeli)的東西大道.
万汀岛度假村位于天猛莪湖的一个人工岛上。经由南北高速公路从吉隆坡驱车仅需两个小时的时间直到瓜拉江沙市(Kuala Kangsar)，后大概另外两个半小时从联邦大道到宜力市(Gerik)后， 转入东西高速公路即可到达度假村，全程需要大概五个小时。萬汀島離開宜力只不過45公里，在東西大道上看到2座橫跨湖心的大橋，就可以看到萬汀島了.
如果从槟城出发，全程将缩短两个半小时，从北海－居林高速公路(Butterworth-Kulim Expressway)直到宜力古邦新路(Grik-Kubang new highway)，再转入东西高速公路直到度假村。
来宜力记得带水桶来取山泉水！
