Malaysia followed the Westminster system of democratic parliamentary system of government, modelled after the UK system.
The Head of state(King or President) is a ceremonial figure, he do not actively exercise executive powers.
The Head of government or prime minister/chief minister, usually have the support of a majority in the parliament/state assembly.
The dissolution of the legistature and the call for the new elections is formally done by the Head of state, by convention the head of state acts according to the wishes of the Head of government.
The judicial system is independent from the legistature and the government; free from their influence.
