Ipoh is a food heaven. They are famous for Nga-choi-kai(Bean sprout chicken), Kai-si-hor-fan, Hor hee, Dim sum, Hakka Mee, Dried Curry Mee, Beef ball noodle,salted chicken(yin-kup-kai) and Ipoh white coffee. I just missed the Ipoh food, after I left Ipoh.....
The hor-fun, the bean sprout, the soy drink, tau-foo-fa, and the tofu; they are the best in the country. It is because of the water in Ipoh was from the limestone hill, which contain calcium and other minerals. The closest place I remember is another mining town, Sungei Lembing in Pahang, which also produced good tofu and its related products......
Just happen to drop by Jalan Bandar Timah, the old Leech Street, the Ipoh Old Town...the place I used to go each morning.....

Fully packed Sun Yuan Loong coffee shop, it is the most popular in the morning, it is difficult getting a place. The original Ipoh white coffee....

Just opposite Nam Heong is the Sun Yuan Loong, which is also located at the corner. It is the shop that the original Ipoh white coffee come from, the founder or origin of Ipoh white coffee. The next door of Sun Yuan Loong ,is Sun Yuan Foong coffee shop.
Kedai Makanan Nam Heong, at No2, Jalan Bandar Timah, Ipoh. The coffee shop open each day from 7.30a.m. to 4p.m. I used to eat at this coffee shop while I was in Ipoh. They said the Old Town Coffee brand is from the shop, it is the shop that developed and promoted the Ipoh white coffee to all over Malaysia. There are dim sum stall(Nam Heong Dim Sum), char koay teow, hakka mee, and the shop serve Ipoh famous white coffee. It is located at the corner.
